Child allowance
Child allowance provide economic support and are given quarterly to families with children below the age of 18. If as a Nordic citizen you are covered by Danish legislation you are entitled to receive the allowance even if you or your children do not have a fixed abode in Denmark while at the same time you meet the statutory requirements for payment of child allowance.
Supplementary child allowance
Supplementary child allowance is provided as economic support to persons in special situations (single persons, pensioners, survivors, students etc.). If as a Nordic citizen you are covered by Danish legislation you are entitled to receive the supplementary child allowance even if you or your children do not have a fixed abode in Denmark while at the same time you meet the statutory requirements for payment of supplementary child allowance.
Pregnancy and adoption benefits
Pregnancy benefit is provided as financial compensation for loss of income when you are absent from work as a result of pregnancy, birth or adoption. Employees, self-employed persons and those who are unemployed have the possibility of receiving pregnancy benefit. If as a Nordic citizen you are covered by Danish legislation you are entitled to receive pregnancy and adoption benefits even if you do not have a fixed abode in Denmark. You must however meet the statutory requirements to receive pregnancy and adoption benefits.
