If you as a Nordic citizen become ill or injured while you are living or working in Greenland, you are entitled to free medical visits to a doctor and hospital treatment.
Treatment by a doctor.
You should contact the local Health Centre / Hospital.
In Nuuk you should contact the doctor’s clinic.
Dentist
You should contact the local dental practice.
In some towns you can get in contact with a private dentist and you will need to pay the dentist’s bill yourself.
If you become sick while you are actively employed
Sickness benefit
Many employees are entitled to full pay while off sick according to collective agreements on the labour market.
A person may receive employment benefits while off sick and not capable of working.
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is an employment-related activity with economic benefits which you as a Nordic citizen are entitled to, if you live and work in Greenland and have a limited ability to work.
Occupational injury insurance
There are benefits due to industrial injuries and work-related injuries. Certain criteria need to be met.
